September and October: 18 and 19 months old

The Fraser household has been busy as usual! Simon is busy in school getting all A's and has finally submitted his Med-School applications. He ended up applying to 18 schools. All of which are in the Midwest and East Coast. Ideally we would love to stay in Ohio, but we know God has a plan for us and he will put us where we belong, regardless what we do or say :) Simon also got his MCAT score back and he got a 24! We are really happy about this because 24 is the national average.. and all he wanted to be was average :)

Our family had a nice little get away in September. We took Brynn to Cleveland to meet with a third Orthopedic Surgeon to get his opinion on Brynn's hips. He ended up agreeing with our original surgeon and told us that when Brynn is crawling and pulling himself up.. that would be the time to have his hips put back into the socket. We were very pleased with him and left feeling very confident in our specialist. So knowing we were going to be in Cleveland we decided to stay downtown for the night. So after our appointment we checked into our hotel, grabbed a bit to eat and then headed back to the hotel for a nap. We then met up with the Dawson Family, visited for awhile and then headed back to the hotel. We stayed at an Embassy Suites, which is our new favorite hotel, and it was pretty empty on a Monday so we let Mia run down the long hallway. She LOVED it! Both Brynn and Mia did very well and enjoyed getting away for the night!

We also visited the Rossmans at their RV on Catawba Island. They invited us up for trick-or-treat. Brynn dressed up as a dragon.. I thought I was buying a dinosaur costume, but after a discussion with Simon, I now realize his costume was a dragon and Mia was a beautiful butterfly! The twins did so well and everyone loved their costumes. Mia carried her bag full of candy and then started falling down because the bag was too heavy! Mia even got to try her 1st Kitkat bar!

Mia has become quite the young lady. She loves going to gymnastics on Wednesdays! The 1st time we went, she cried for the first 10 minutes.. I think she saw a bunch of people she didn't know and she cried until she realized I was not going to leave her. Now she prances in, does the stretching (sometimes with me holding her back because she tries to run to the trampoline), goes on and under the parachute, and then off she goes.. she loves swinging from the rings, jumping on the trampoline, going though tunnels and easing into the pit! Her new favorite word is "this". She points and says "this" to everything! Needless to say, we are working very hard on teaching Mia the correct names of items. However, she copies words very well and says all types of words. Anytime she hears dogs barking, she woofs! The other day I was holding her and she pointed to my eye and said "eye". She says Brynn perfectly and now will give me her sippy cup and say "done" when her cup is empty. She is such a sweet heart! Every morning I see her, I think to myself.. when did she get so big?! She is so tall and now enjoys walking everywhere with us. She doesn't want to be in the stroller or carried, she wants to walk. She also loves taking the dogs for walks. She even put them on their leashes in the house and prances them around. Mia also has a new passion for coloring. She loves crayons, makers, pens, pencils.. you name it and she likes to color with it! She also loves reading. She picks out tons of books everyday, sits in my lap and we attempt to read them! She mostly enjoys pictures books. She loves pointing to the pictures and finding out what it is, if she doesn't already know its name! Miss Mia just brings so much joy to our lives!

Mr. Brynn oh Mr. Brynn. He has really become such a big boy! Brynn now has a bigger walker that he LOVES being in. He pushes himself backwards and sideways. We are working on going forward, but I guess the other directions are more fun! His walker has a little seat in it. When he gets tired or sees the TV, he will sit down and relax, but when something catches his eye... boom.. hes off! Brynn has also learned how to roll from his back to stomach. So he rolls over, gets on his hands and knees and starts rocking back and forth or he just cruises backwards! Brynn is still going and walking on the treadmill. Last Monday he walked 440 feet and actually took 8 steps all on his own with no assistants. We went to the feeding clinic the other week and they told us that Brynn looks great and they are excited to see that he is interested in food. Whenever I feed Mia, Brynn wants to play with whatever she is eating. He also licks his lips as if he is eating. They told me this is a really good sign and to just keep giving him small tastes of whatever Mia is eating. Brynn actually has been opening his mouth for tastes of spaghetti sauce, hummus, ranch, and has finally started to enjoy suckers! Brynn is such a super star in his "We Joy Sing" class. I originally had him in the class with the age group 13-24 months. The 1st class we went to, I felt bad for Brynn because all the other kids were walking around and would pick up their own instruments and would dance on their own. This was supposed to be a positive experience for Brynn and I felt like he was looking at kids do things he wasn't able to do, so I decided to switch Brynn to the 1-12 month class. He loves it!! He is able to do everything, and all the other moms, and our teacher, enjoy his jumping, talking and of course smiling :) Brynn truly brings so much joy to our lives and lets us remember, how lucky we are to have him in our lives!
