Mia, Brynn and I have been staying busy by going to the zoo, pool, running errands, going to the park, getting ice cream, playing outside etc. The twins are at such a fun age. Their personalities just continue to come out more and more everyday!
Mr. Brynn has had a very busy month. Lets start by saying that he is 20.5 lbs! He is getting more chunky everyday! He has 2 teeth (finally) but they are random side teeth. This makes us laugh because nothing has been quote on quote "normal" with our Brynnster! He also has 2 more teeth coming in on the top. On June 16th Brynn got off of his oxygen. He is supposed to be on it during nap time and during the night, however.. he always yanks it off and usually wears it as a headband! But ever since he has gotten off of the oxygen he is a completely different little boy! He is finally experiencing what it is like to live in the world without wires holding him back! As we like to say.. "Brynn is finally wireless"!! He is constantly all smiles, he holds himself up on his arms, and he as even started getting on hands and knees and rocking back and forth. He has become more vocal, loves to stand, will walk in water and attempts to walk on land. We even have a little car that Brynn will sit on all by himself... which is amazing to us, because we did not know he had the strength to hold himself up. Brynn also had a short stay in the hospital on June 23rd. We noticed on Sunday June 20th that Brynn had a lump in his left hernia.. it felt like a ball of stool that was stuck. I took Brynn to his pediatrician on Monday and he was unable to reduce his hernia and felt that the lump was very large. He then called Brynn's surgeon and Dr. King told us to come in the next morning so he could look at the lump. After visiting with him he informed me that Brynn was going to have emergency surgery the next day and that he was clearing out a spot for him. His left hernia was incarcerated (a ball of stool was stuck) and the only way to fix it was with surgery. It was emergency surgery, because there can be damage to his intestines, infection etc. if left untreated. Brynn did great with the 1.5 hour procedure. He had his left testicle descended, his hernia repaired.. which was complete reconstruction and was also circumcised. I spent the night with him in the hospital and he did great. He was on oxygen throughout the night, but was sent home on zero oxygen, and no pain medicine. I was worried about him because he had about a 3-4 inch incision on his tummy, an incision on his sac and stitches from his circumcision. And this little fighter... little miracle baby was so incredible. He was in no pain! All he wanted to do was sit in his jumper and jump! He should be an inspiration to us all!! What a strong little man! Brynn then goes back on August 6th to have his right hernia repaired, and we expect nothing but a nice easy surgery and recovery.. but if you could continue to have him in your prayers.. we would greatly appreciate it!
Miss Mia is now a whopping 25lbs! She has 8 teeth, and is currently getting a few of her molars. Mia is now not just walking but almost starting to run! We went to a park party for my sister's work and Mia watched all the little kids walking. I think Mia was inspired by the other kids that she started walking that night and has not slowed down since! I am defiantly getting a good workout now.. all day long! We even had to make our first visit to Stride Rite, to get Mia proper walking shoes! (Who knew baby shoes could be so expensive!) She has also started to learn parts of her body and little games. She will show you where her nose, mouth, tongue, belly button, hands and feet are. She will clap her hands, put her arms up and constantly plays peak-a-boo! It is crazy how she learns new things everyday. I said, "Go get your dog" and she searched until she found her dog! I could not believe it. Such a smart little girl :) On a sour note.. she has temper tantrums every now and then, so I guess the terrible 2s are starting a little early! She loves testing mommy and daddy :)
