The Fraser Family: April 2012

March was a very fun month for us! We started it off right with a 2 week trip to Florida! As you know, Marion and I drove through the night to Orlando with the twins, and the drive went really well. We traded off driving every 2 hours, so the trip seemed to go fast. The twins slept the majority of the time, and were mostly well behaved when they weren't sleeping! We had a fabulous time in Orlando! We went to the pool everyday and had wonderful dinners at night. We then headed to Simon's grandparents condo in Tampa and had 2 fun nights with them! Pretty much doing the same thing... swimming and eating! Then the last week of our trip was in St. Petersburg on Treasure Island! It was wonderful! The only thing that changed in our routine was we added going to the beach! We were a little afraid how Brynn and Mia would react to the sand and ocean, because it was their first time, but they loved it! Simon dug out chairs into the sand, so Brynn and Mia had a fun place to sit. We built sandcastles, collected seashells and even went into the big, blue ocean. Brynn didn't love the ocean, but Mia loved it. After she discovered the water tasted like salt (which she is obsessed with) she enjoyed going into the water, spending the whole time licking her hands and arms! Mia even learned how to swim! While in the pool, she would jump in the water, float to the top and then swim to the side of the pool. She even would swim to people in the water.. going under water and coming up for a breath! She did so well!!

When our 2 weeks in Florida were over, Simon, the twins and myself headed to Memphis for Simon's conference. We had a blast walking down Beale Street. Brynn and Mia loved listening to the jazz music and watching the street performers. We were even able to see the marching ducks at the Peabody Hotel (which is a must see if you are ever in Memphis). Then on our last day in Memphis, I took the twins to the Memphis Zoo, while Simon was in meetings. All and all we had a blast! But we were very ready to get home and to be done living out of a suitcase and finally sleep in our own beds! Our dive home was uneventful and when we made it home, we all slept like babies :)

After being gone for 2 weeks and not wanting a crazy party, we decided to have the twin's 3rd Birthday Party with just family. It was very nice a quite. We enjoyed yummy food and of course cake! And to top it off, Brynn and Mia got their Mercedes Benz Power Wheels! Its the best of both worlds because Mia loves driving and there is an IPod adaptor, so Brynn enjoys playing music though the real-working radio! I wish I had this thing when I was little!

To finish out the month, we celebrated Simon's 29th Birthday! Only 1 more year I keep telling him :) we celebrated his birthday by going out for a family dinner. It was very nice and relaxing!
