December was a cold but enjoyable month! Christmas time is always one of our favorite times of the year! We all look forward to it! Our December was filled with gingerbread decorating, ornament creating, snow man building, hot coco drinking and trying to stay warm :) This truly was one of the coldest winters I can remember. However, we made the best of it!! My sister Olivia got engaged on Christmas Eve! We were all thrilled and made sure this Christmas Eve was one to remember! Both sides of our families got together for church service and had a champagne toast to celebrate the newly engaged couple! The only negative thing that happened was the flu attached itself to our family and took us down one by one. It started with Brynn and Mia the week leading up to Christmas, then hit Kirsten the day before Christmas Eve and hit both Brynn and I Christmas Eve night at church. Sadly I did not get to enjoy the fondue that Marion prepared for Christmas Eve, a dish that I had looked forward to all year. What a bummer that was! Simon had to get all the gifts built and set up solo, but he did it like a champ! Then on Christmas Liv and Jason hosted Christmas dinner, which Brynn and I missed but we somehow managed to make an appearance at the end of the night. Brynn and Mia loved their gifts! Mia got an American Girl Doll, Rebecca. That is all she wanted. The doll and the gymnastics set, which she of course got! Brynn got a drum set, imagine that, Brynn wanted something that had to do with music! He also got a Fire House doll set, that both he and Mia enjoy playing with together! At least we were all healthy for New Years! Wanting to spend New Years Eve as a family, we started our evening at Scioto Country Club. They hosted a family New Years Eve party, that consisted of a balloon drop, balloon characters, face painting and lots of dancing! We had so much fun! We then ended the night with my family coming over to our house, ringing in the New Year together!
