It's not Mr. Fraser, it's Dr. Fraser...

I am so excited and honored to announce that Simon will be attending Ohio University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. In April Simon was invited down for an interview. After an intense 7 hours of touring the Medical School and interviewing with three different people, Simon was told they would let him know their decision within the week. Simon felt really good about his interviews and thought OUCOM would be a great fit. We wanted to see what Athens had to offer, so after his interview was over we decided to drive around looking at different areas we could live. Honestly, one hour after Simon left his interview, he received the call. OUCOM wanted to offer Simon a spot in their 2011 Medical School class!!! As Simon sincerely thanked them for the opportunity, tears rolled down his face and then mine. What a blessing God has given us. Out of 5000 applicants there are only 140 spots availabe and Simon holds one of them!! I am so stinking proud of his accomplishment and so grateful that he has finally been rewarded for all his sacrifice and hard work!

After we celebrated the fact that Simon was actually on his way to becoming a doctor, we had the daunting tasks of finding a place to live. We had no idea that finding "good" housing in Athens 4 months before school is in session is absolutely impossible. After careful consideration we decided that it would be best for the twins and I to stay in Columbus and for Simon to live in Athens during the week and to come home on weekends. This way, during the week Simon can devote all of his time to studying, and I can continue our routine in Columbus with doctors, therapists, friends, family, etc. And when we do get to see Simon on the weekends it will be quality family time!! It was also easy for us to come to this decision because OU's Medical School is only 2 years in Athens and then 2 years at a satellite hospital. Therefore, we are hoping that Simon will be at one of the two satellite hospitals here in Columbus for his last two years of Medical School!

Congratulations to the most loving, caring, nurturing, driven husband and father! We love you so much!
