The Fraser Family: April and May 2013

After celebrating some wonderful Birthdays and traveling in March, the kids adjusted to being back in school and so did daddy. These two months were pretty uneventful, however, we had a little scare with Brynn. Brynn was not feeling very well. He had a cough and also a fever on a Wednesday, so I kept him home from school. On Thursday he still had a fever, so I took him to our doctor. Our doctor said his lungs sounded clear, so to keep him on Ibuprofen for his fever and if he wasn't feeling better by Monday to bring him back. On Friday Brynn was inconsolable. Absolutely miserable. By the time Simon got home from Athens, Brynn still had his fever and was not looking well. Simon took him to our Urgent Care office, hoping to get him an antibiotic. I got a call from Simon telling me to pack my bag because they were calling an ambulance to transport Brynn to Children's Hospital. His Oxygen saturation was extremely low, and he required oxygen immanently. We ended up spending the weekend in the hospital because Brynn had pneumonia. It is so scary how fast a child can take a turn for the worse. We learned that Brynn really liked to party.. we spent Cinco de Mayo at Children's Hospital! We were lucky that Brynn's body took to the antibiotics and Brynn was able to come home Monday evening! I ended up keeping both kiddos home all week, making sure to keep everyone healthy!
